Upcoming Nintendo DS Games Introduce More than 150 Never-Before-Seen Pokémon and a New Region to Explore
REDMOND, Wash., Dec. 27, 2010 - Nintendo of America today announced that the Pokémon™ Black Version and Pokémon White Version video games will launch in North America on March 6, 2011. The games, playable exclusively on the Nintendo DS™ family of systems, are a completely new adventure that Pokémon fans old and new can embark on. Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version introduce more than 150 new Pokémon and a new region to explore.
Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version feature new Pokémon that players can catch, train and battle as they progress through the game, and some Pokémon can only be caught in one version of the game. For example, the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram™ can only be caught in Pokémon Black Version, while the Legendary Pokémon Zekrom™ can only be caught in Pokémon White Version. Additionally, the two games feature different areas for the first time in the series, with the game world of Pokémon Black Version featuring a unique metropolitan area called Black City, and a lush, green area named White Forest only found in Pokémon White Version. Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version also mark the first time in a Pokémon video game that the seasons will change in the game world. Certain Pokémon appear more frequently during different seasons, and players can only access some areas during a specific season.
Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version let players start with one of three new Starter Pokémon - the Grass-type Snivy™, the Fire-type Tepig™ or the Water-type Oshawott™. Until the main story of the game is complete, every Pokémon that players encounter will have never been seen before in previous Pokémon games. The games also feature original boy and girl trainers who set out on an adventure in the new Unova region.
“Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version represent a generational leap forward for the renowned series, delivering an unprecedented number of new Pokémon to catch, battle and trade,” said Marc Franklin, Nintendo of America's director of Public Relations. “Whether you have played the Pokémon video games before or are just getting interested in them, you won't want to miss Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version.”
Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version are now available for pre-order from major retailers throughout North America for a suggested retail price of $34.99 each. A deposit may be required for pre-orders. See individual retailers for details.

Yannappu, Hiyappu, and Baoppu now have English names! This picture from Pokébeach (link above) shows their names, along with the pictures of the cases for Pokémon Black and White!

"Karate Kid" Remake Filmmaker Rumored to Direct "Bakugan" movie
I don't know how to feel about this. I'm in no way a Bakugan fan but I'd probably sit through a movie about it, but The Karate Kid remake was such a fail that I'm not sure.
And, really, can you actually take Dan's hair seriously in real life?
Feel free to use this post for casting hopes.

Possible Winx Club Season 5 Images?
The images below may or may not be from Season 5. We have no proof that they are, and they may be fake or from different Winx Club merchandise. At the bottom of all the images is an address to the Russian blog MagiaDelWinx, and the images were found on the blog Winx Club Blog by Olgawinx.
Now, a quote from Kikurukina Bal Des'cagel, who posted these pictures on Winx-Fairies.
"Puzzling, isn't it? The Winx Club are in there season three outfits (with possibly Roxy!), yet Stella is carrying her handbag from her Frutti Music Bar outfit. Is it a bad joke, or is someone hinting at us that these are real by placing Stella's bag (and possibly Roxy!) in the shot?
Only time will tell..."
What do you guys think! Tell us in the comments!!!
Zoroark: Master of Illusion ENGLISH TRAILER, Dates for the Giveaway of the Legendary Pokemon, and Victini and the Dark Hero Japanese Release Date!
A LOT OF INFO! First, the ENGLISH TRAILER of the Zoroark movie, named Zoroark: Master of Illusion!
The movie is set to be released February 2011. Here's the summary from Pokemon.com:
The Fury of Zoroark Has Been Unleashed!
The Pokémon Baccer World Cup.
It is the most anticipated event of the year, and as hundreds flock to Crown City to watch the exciting competition unfold, Ash, Pikachu, and his friends encounter a mysterious new Pokémon they have never seen before.
But when the three Legendary Pokémon Raikou, Entei, and Suicune suddenly arrive and begin rampaging through the streets, it’s up to Ash and his companions, along with their new Pokémon friend Zorua, to uncover the secret behind the immense and powerful forces at work.
What strange and dangerous powers are afoot in Crown City? Why did Celebi suddenly return after vanishing for twenty years? And why is the mighty Zoroark unleashing its fury upon the town? The quest for these answers leads down an uncertain path filled with peril—can Ash and his companions find enough courage, strength, and friendship to unearth the mystery in time to save Crown City?
Release Date: February 2011
Now, the dates for the giveaway of the shiny Entei, Raikou, and Suicune. According to this page on the official Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver website, each one will be available at Gamestop stores for a short period of time starting in early January. Here are the dates:
Raikou: January 3rd through January 9th
Entei: January 17th through January 23rd
Suicune: January 31st through February 6th
Next, the dates for Victini and the Dark Hero! It will be aired in Japanese theaters on July 16th, 2011. Two events will take place near that dates where you can get Pokemon, as always. I assume they will be Victini and Zekrom, or maybe a different Pokemon that has a main purpose in the movie that we don't know about yet. I'll tell you the Pokemon being given out when I know!
Well, finally, I'm done with this post. A lot of info. *sigh* I missed this excited feeling, like what I had when Black and White were coming out! I guess I'll get the feeling again when Victini and the Dark Hero comes out, and when Black and White come out in other countries!
Pokemon Best Wishes Full Opening and Full Kokoro No Fanfare!
Lyrics can be found on the Song Lyrics page, and are located here.
And, here's the full version of Best Wishes' ending song, Kokoro no Fanfare. I'm pretty sure that translates to either Fanfare's Heart or Fanfare of the Heart.
Sadly, I wasn't able to find lyrics for Kokoro no Fanfare. Anyone who can, please email me at imk1047@gmail.com! Thanks!

FULL Phantom: Ruler Zoroark Movie!
Victini and The Dark Hero Trailer Subbed (With an annoying update)
Since YouTube took the original subbed video off, I have to post this one, subbed in Spanish. *sigh* I'll use my old, idiotic friend Google Translate to shine some light on this. (Wow...a translation of a translation...how ironic!)
Supposed Translation:
A new film scheduled for release this summer ...
Pokemon First Movie - Best Wishes "First hit"
The long awaited and finally new film will be released today!
With a new storyline ...
"That's ..."
The new leyanda starts here!
Pokemon First Movie - Best Wishes "First hit"
"Victini and black hero!"
That force will have legendary pokemon mysterious protector, Victini?
Also ... Who is the hero actually black?
For more details ...
See the website homepage and programs and official Pokemon embezzlement.
My thoughts on the translation: "The long awaited and finally new film will be released today!" I think, by "today", they don't mean this day, but currently. As in, using the word "today" as a synonym for "current" or "the present".
"The new leyanda starts here!" Now, thanks to a good friend of mine *wink wink* I know what leyenda means. It means legend. So, the sentence is "The new legend starts here!" Makes a lot more sense, doesn't it?
"That force will have legendary pokemon mysterious protector, Victini?" Maybe they meant...I have no idea. Sorry!
"Also ... Who is the hero actually black?" I'm assuming they meant "Also...who is the Black Hero?" Otherwise, that sounds REALLY racist.
"See the website homepage and programs and official Pokemon embezzlement." Embezzlement? What the heck?
______
So, yeah. If anyone else has a clue on the translation, please send me an email at imk1047@gmail.com! Thanks guys, and I hope this video doesn't get taken off too! (Or else more late night YouTube browsing for me...)
UPDATE: My AWESOME friend Fairy of Subterra (not sure if she wants her real name on here) was able to translate the Spanish! Her translation is:
A new film planned for its premiere this summer...Pokemon First Movie--Best Wishes "First hit"The much awaited new movie will be finally revealed today! With a completely new plotline..."That is..."The new legend starts here!Pokemon First Movie--Best Wishes "First hit""Victini and the black hero!"What mysterious force will guard legendary Pokemon Victini?Also...Who in fact is the black hero? For more details...See programs and website homepage and official Pokemon movies.
So, thank you SOOO much Fairy of Subterra, and thank your Spanish teacher for me! :D

Bakugan Trivia Time!
- Chan Lee is most likely a reference to Jackie Chan and the Lee family (Bruce Lee and his son Brandon Lee).
- An interesting fact is to note, that during the first episode of each season Dan has a different illusion. In "the original series", during his battle against Shuji, Dan had a illusion of Drago, in "New Vestroia" at the beginning of the episode he "heard" Drago, and in "Gundalian Invaders" he had a illusion about the Twelve Orders after battling Ren.
- Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders is also the only series to drop "Battle Brawlers" in its name.
- Shun is the only member of the Bakugan Brawlers who has not, as of yet, used his Battle Gear.
- They say Dan is ranked number one, but an interesting fact to note is he actually has a record of a normal brawler (a lot of losses, a lot of wins) were other brawlers ranked in the average have a great record.
- Jake's original last name was listed as "Rockwell".
- In episode five of Battle Brawlers, Runo's mom complains that there isn't a single picture of her, you can see a picture of the entire family, herself included.
- In episode 35, it is shown that Preyas can talk to cats.
- Hydron and his father are the only Vexos that do not have a last name.
- Subterra is the only Attribute to not end in an S.
- Masquerade is the only character to defeat all of the Brawlers.
- Dan was the first character to use a triple ability in the anime.
- Alpha Hydranoid may be based off of the Russian legend of zmey.
- All of Marucho's guardians are laid back.
- It's stated on his profile on Bakugan.com that Ace is in love with Mira, which is one of the reasons why he doesn't like Dan that much.
- If one pre-ordered the DS version from Gamestop or EB Games, they would get a DS case with Shun, Dan, and Marucho on it.
- Minx Elfin's real form resembles the uniform of Sailor Moon in the SuperS season, while Minx's Darkus mode resembles Sailor V's costume.
- Stoica is the only non-minor member of the Twelve Orders to show his human form.
- Kazarina is shown to have violet eyes in episode 17.
- Sid Arcale's hair seems to be modeled after the hair of famed X-Men character Wolverine.
- The episode "A Fish Called Tayghen" is titled after the movie "A Fish Called Wanda". Likewise, the episode "Dude, Where's My Bakugan" is a reference to the movie "Dude, Where's My Car".
- Tentaclear is the only non-mechanical Guardian Bakugan of an important character that cannot talk (possibly due to the fact Tentaclear is a giant eyeball and therefore likely lacks a mouth).
- The shields on Fangoid resemble PokeBalls.
- In the original series, at the intermission where there is a brawler and their Bakugan, it showed Alice along with a rabbit holding a pocket watch. This is likely a reference to Alice in Wonderland and the White Rabbit.
- Leonidas was named after Leonidas I who was the King of Sparta and led the 300 Spartans against a much greater Persian force.
- Merlix is named after Merlin of Arthurian legend.
- When you start a battle in Bakugan Dimensions, the brawler on the right of the intro is throwing an Aquos Coredem.
- Spectra Phantom and Gus are the only two Brawlers to use more than one Attribute in New Vestroia.
- Ventus was mostly overlooked in New Vestroia, as only two Brawlers, Shun and Lync, posseseed the Attribute.
- Akwimos' cry is similar to a cross between a dolphin and killer whale cry.

Starters Names in English!
Ian's Edit: Snivy seems to be a mixture of snake and ivy, Tepig is tepid (which means warm) and obviously pig. Oshawott...I have no idea. The "wott" could be both water and otter, but I'm not sure about the Osha.

How Pokemon Get Made
When Ken Sugimori first started Game Freak in the early '80s, it was nothing but a video-game fanzine he co-created with his pal Satoshi Tajiri. Now he's the main 2D art director on the Pokemon series, and Tajiri is famous worldwide as the man that not only gave Nintendo a billion-dollar franchise, but almost singlehandedly saved the Game Boy from irrelevancy at one point.
One would think, therefore, that the monster design process for Pokemon Black and White was a regimental, heavily overseen affair. Not so. "There's about 17 people in our design team, and generally what happens is they each draw their own Pokemon and then they get discussed over group meetings," he told Famitsu magazine this week. "We didn't have a very long development cycle with this game, so I had a lot of one-on-one time with each designer."
"There's no particular number that each designer needs to create," added Takao Unno, Pokemon's 3D art director. "But they come up with far, far more designs than actually get included in the game."
Sugimori's main design task for Black and White was Reshiram and Zekrom, the two legendary Pokemon that appear on the box art for each game. "Those were the main ones," he said. "We had previously decided they would be black and white dragons, and that they'd be Fire and Electric type. I wanted to have a pretty stark contrast between the two, so Reshiram was given a light, airy, ladylike design while Zekrom has a much tougher and manly look. The tails on both Pokemon are the central points of their respective designs -- they're based off of those electric turbines you see, and they give the impression that they're these great big generators of fire or electric energy."
The designs for the three starter Pokemon in Black and White, meanwhile, were handled by younger staff at Game Freak. Pokabu, the Fire-type pig shown above, was conceived by Korean graphic designer Lee Hyun-Jung, who's mostly handled art for the Pokemon Trading Card Game up to now. "The original idea with Pokabu was to have a Pokemon that figuratively looked 'cute enough to eat' at the start, but would eventually evolve to the point where it'd wind up eating you instead," Lee told Famitsu. "Also, I read somewhere once that pigs wallow in mud because otherwise they have trouble regulating their body temperature, so I thought it'd be amusing if it shot fire out of its snout to do that instead."
A lot of thought goes into the starter Pokemon and their respective roles, as you'd expect. "Out of the first three Pokemon, we eventually decided that Tsutaja [the Grass type] would be the 'cool' one and Mijumaru [the Water type] would be the 'cute' one," Lee said. "Pokabu wound up being more of the 'sidekick' sort -- clumsy but lovable. He gradually evolves and matures into something a lot more reliable as you play, so it makes the effort to raise him seem pretty worth it, I think."
As for Mijumaru and his evolutions, designer Yusuke Ohmura decided to make him the 'den mother' figure looking over the other two starters. "Janobii and Chaoboo [Tsutaja and Pokabu's first evolutions, respectively] were already done up by the time I worked on Mijumaru's evolutions, so I envisioned something that could get in between those two and stop them whenever they got in a fight," he said. "For Daikenki [Mijumaru's final evolution], I decided that a full-on change in shape would be the best. I caught a trained-seal show at the Sunshine International Aquarium in Ikebukuro around that time, and it really impressed me how strong those seals were -- they just seemed so powerful, especially the sound they made when they stamped on the ground. I worked that into the design, and Daikenki was the result."
When asked what the hardest part of Black/White development was, Unno and Sugimori being up the sheer amount of work animating each Pokemon proved to be. "A lot of people think that our graphic designers do nothing but the basic Pokemon portraits," Unno said, "but they're also responsible for the in-game pixel art and 3D sequences. Since we have the Pokemon constantly moving during battle, we had to decide how each one would act when executing this or that move, or what they should look like when they were put to sleep or whatever. It was a lot more work than I ever imagined it'd be."
"Since you can bring in your old Pokemon after finishing the story, we also had to add new animation to all of the Pokemon in the book," Sugimori added. "It was just a massive quantity of work, and I really respect everyone on the team for plowing through it."

Liberty Ticket And A Free Mew!
- On the main menu of the game, select "ふしぎな おくりもの"
- On that menu, select "おくりものを うけとる"
- It will ask you a question. Select the first option (which is yes) and then choose the one that says "Wi-Fi" in English.
- It'll ask you another question. Select yes again, and it will bring you to a different screen. Then you'll get the Liberty Ticket! Go to a Poke Mart (which are now in Pokemon Centers, and you should know that if you have the game) and pick it up! I'm pretty sure it allows you to take some boat out of Hiun City (the big one with the bug type gym) and go to some island to catch Victini.
